I am thrilled to have celebrated ten incredible years of False Creek Skin Solution—a decade of transformations, both inside and out! I want to take a moment to reflect on what ten years really means to us.

It has been a whole decade of helping people look and feel their best. It has also been about 3,650 days of answering the same question: “Do you think I need Botox?” LOL. But all jokes aside, these last 10 years are about more than just treatments, fillers, and glowing complexions. It’s about reflecting on a journey that has been extremely challenging, but also deeply rewarding for myself, my family, and, I hope, my community as a whole.

When I moved to Canada from Serbia, I never could have imagined this moment. I left behind not just my home, but a successful career as a plastic surgeon—a career that brought stability, purpose, and meaning to my life. But arriving here meant stepping into the unknown: a new country, a new language, and a new life. I had nothing and no one to rely on except myself, my dreams, and a great deal of determination. I’ll admit, there were days where I wondered if I’d made the right choice. I had no idea how to run a business in Canada—I didn’t know anyone, and I had to learn how to do everything myself. I took on loans and mortgages, navigating a foreign system and taking risks that felt overwhelming at times. Running a business is a 24/7 commitment, and for many years, it felt incredibly isolating. In Canada, where people’s lives are always in motion, it was difficult to build a team that stayed. Each time I invested in new people, someone moved on, and I had to rebuild—not just my business, but a piece of myself. It was a test of resilience, of grit, and of patience. Every step came with its own challenges, but I never let go of my vision for creating something meaningful, both for myself and for my family. As a woman, as a mother of two young boys, I recognized that I was not just building a business—I was building a life for them. Inspired by my children, I kept going, and little by little, this clinic began to grow. Clients began to trust us with their care, and that’s what kept me pushing forward, even when the road was hard. Still, I can’t talk about hardship without mentioning the pandemic. COVID-19 was something no one could have prepared for, especially in an industry where everything requires close contact. It was a frightening time for myself and the team, just like it was for many small businesses. But we adapted, we learned, and somehow, we found ways to keep going, and here we are—still hydrating, plumping, and tightening … I mean, still surviving!

Because this is one of the things I feel the most fulfilled about in my life: the fact that despite every hardship I faced in this business, I survived. Having gone from a well-established career where I was performing surgeries every day, to being in a country where my qualifications were not recognized, I often get the sense that I am not doing enough, and I feel that there is so much more I need to accomplish in this life before I can consider myself truly successful. And sometimes I feel like I don’t just want to thank you, but I want to apologize too, for any moment that this business has fallen short in serving you in the best way possible, because of the unforeseeable challenges we have had to overcome. I can be very hard on myself about these things, because I have a vision for the excellent service I want to deliver, and I never feel that I am doing enough; but then, when I think about every time I have been knocked down, only to stand up taller and stronger than before, I feel proud.

Looking forward, I am very excited for what’s next. We’ve embraced new technologies, welcomed new treatments, and I’m thrilled to have a talented new doctor, the beautiful Dr. Grace Francescato, on our team. The future of False Creek Skin Solution is bright, and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years will bring.

But this journey isn’t just about me or the clinic—it’s about all of you. We have countless clients and partners to thank for where we are today. We are especially honoured to represent so many incredible brands, many of which are Canadian based, that have supported us with their quality products and incredible collaboration opportunities. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or have just recently joined our community, you are the reason we are here today. You are the heart of our celebration. Your trust, your loyalty, and your support have made this journey possible. For that, I am truly grateful.

So, Cheers to the next chapter, to all of us, and, of course, to many more years of beautiful skin, endless confidence, and just the right amount of Botox!
