An Introduction to Laser and IPL Treatments
Since the 1980s, laser technology has been a key asset in cosmetic procedures. The strength and aggressiveness of cosmetic Lasers can vary depending on the severity of the condition being treated. Non-ablative lasers are gentle and generally painless, allowing you to enjoy the benefit of no downtime, or in some cases very little downtime ranging 3 – 5 days. Some of the more aggressive lasers are ablative in nature, thus you can expect a recovery time ranging from a few weeks to in some cases, several months (rare). Although the use of these lasers require more down time and properly followed after care at home for the client, they often offer the most dramatic results in fewer treatments.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a non-ablative technology which differs from other lasers in that it delivers several wavelengths to the upper layers of the dermis allowing it to accurately correct a wide range of skin conditions found on the surface of the skin. IPL is effective in that it diminishes pigment, thus improving common signs of aging such as sun damage, uneven skin tone, redness associated with Rosacea and Telangiectasias.
Using the Cutera Xeo Coolglide and ND YAG Laser Systems, we can noticeably reduce the appearance of vascular issues on the face, neck, chest and legs. We target a broad range of vessels, including spider veins and reticular veins using this safe and effective laser treatment.
Titan is a “non-surgical” facelift, which utilizes a safe infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin’s surface and adds thickness to the skin. It stimulates collagen contraction and production to tighten sagging areas and also reduces wrinkles. During the procedure, the skin’s top surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece.
The Limelight treatment combines the speed and versatility of an IPL with the accuracy and precision of a laser. Limelight can be used for a variety of vascular and pigmented lesions such as facial telangiectasia, Rosacea, redness, solar lentigines, brown spots and hyper-pigmentation caused by sun damage. This procedure improves skin tone, evens out the complexion, and is highly effective for fair-skinned people. This treatment is not recommended for tanned, olive or black skin.
Permanent hair reduction can be achieved by using a combination of the Cutera Xeo Prowave 770 and the ND YAG lasers, ensuring safe and effective removal of hair at the root level. Our specialized lasers are compatible with all skin types and hair densities.
Smoother skin and a more even skin tone can be achieved using this non-ablative laser therapy with no down time. This treatment also known as Laser Genesis targets depression marks and reduces scars caused by acne, and minor injuries. While stimulating collagen renewal, this skin therapy treats fine-line wrinkles, diffuses redness, and reduces the appearance of Rosacea, Melasma, vascular lesions, large pores, uneven skin texture and stretch marks!
With its unique design, the Cutera AcuTip Laser delivers light energy safely and effectively to treat individual and facial veins. The cooled tip is ideally sized for targeting small vessels on the nose, cheeks, chin, and other areas of the face. It can just as easily be used to remove sun or age spots that are often found on the face, chest, and hands.
This laser procedure is perfected for safely and effectively treating nail fungus. It requires one or a small number of safe, quick treatments that target the fungus directly, getting to the source of the problem immediately. The fungus is irradiated with no damage to the surrounding nail or skin.
