THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND LIMELIGHT™
Limelight gets its name from the intense spetrum green light that is emitted from the device. Focused light has the ability to target specific tones in the skin like red and brown. These tones are essentially heated up to the point where the cells become injured and eventually detach themselves from the epidermis. The technology behind Limelight allows the pulse to affect only deeper pigments like moles, brown spots and redness while leaving the surrounding skin untouched.
COOLGLIDE™ LASER FOR SPIDER VEINS
While the Limelight treatment provides an overall diffusion of pigment, some lesions such as spider veins may benefit from the added use of the Coolglide™ Laser. This technology is laser based with a narrow area beam that targets small to tiny imperfections that can get missed. Those with spider veins around the nose, chin and cheeks can greatly benefit from this treatment alone or in addition to their IPL.

This is relatively painless procedure that is comparable to a light snap of an elastic band. Our technician will adjust the intensity specifically to your skin tone and comfort level. The laser device is moved over the treatment areas quickly making the entire procedure over often in under 30 minutes.
Depending on the severity of the aging and sun damage of the skin, 1 to 3 treatments are usually needed to produce optimal results. In some cases more treatments may be required depending on the individual’s desired results.
You will begin to see results within a few weeks once the skin begins to regenerate and expel the treated pigments that have been heated up by the laser. Redness and discoloured areas will diffuse revealing a more even and brighter complexion.
There will be redness immediately after your treatment but this will subside within a few hours. Avoid any intense activity that involves sweating and be sure to stay out of the sun for at least 24 hours to avoid additional irritation. Be sure to apply sunscreen daily to maintain your results and protect your skin from future damage.
We recommend staying out of the sun for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment. After your treatment you must wear sunscreen and refrain from tanning for a minimum of 2 weeks.
